The Author is a fond of travels and eating, but because of being not blessed in financial he usually travel via public transportation which made him thought of creating a blog named Ma, bayad po in recognition with his fellow travelers with the hope that he can help give information of the travel destinations and food advice to fellow feast seekers via journal of his experiences such as mountaineering, backpacking, and food tastes for delicacies infamous to the Filipinos.

"Ma, bayad po!" is a usual term by Filipino public commuters. This is commonly heard at public transportation in the Philippines such as jeepneys and multicabs; Passengers use this to tell the driver that s/he is paying his/her fare via passing to fellow passengers until it reaches the driver; This is a Filipino term of saying "Hey Mr., here's my fare!". So? Are you ready to say Ma, bayad po?


PHILIPPINES is a Southeast Asian country and is located in the Pacific Ring of Fire, thus, no doubt that its 7,107 islands are mainly mountainous & tropical in nature and also volcanic in origin. Rich in mountains and coastlines, not to mention the biodiversity, the Philippines boasts many of it's prides such as the Galathea Depth of Philippine Trench which is ranked as 3rd deepest point in the world, the 2nd largest coral reef in the world named Apo Reef, the 3rd largest flower named Philippine Rafflesia, unique faunas such as Tarsier & Tamaraw, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World-the Puerto Princesa underground river, and more.


Aside for those infamous prides, the Philippines have more prides that is hidden around it's 7000 islands, this can only be seen by various outdoor activities such trekking & mountaineering, backpacking, spelunking & caving and more series of explorations. Expensive as it may sound, but Philippines is ranked as second cheapest yet superb tourist destination in the world, the only problem here now is time as exploring the whole country will need lots of time. Well, just select few spots if you can't explore every corner.

Adding up are the customs of the Filipinos that is favorable to the feasters and fun seekers, the traditional festives also known as barrio fiesta. Philippines celebrates lots of barrio fiestas as it is a traditional way to the Filipinos to commemorate the patron saints of each town, municipal or barrio. Some of the most famous festivals are Dinagyang, Bangus, Moriones & Sinulog.
But how can we go to our destinations? Transportation in the Philippines other than taxi is consists of Jeepney, Tricycle, Bus, Train, Plane and Cruise. The Jeepneys are the most common in all of the said transportation followed by Buses and Tricycles, but there are still unique ways of transportation out in selected corner of the country. One of these is the so called Habal-habal or a backride to a single motorbike. So? ready to explore the Philippines? Let The Author take you to some places he have been through.
