Buko is a Filipino word for young coconut which grows abundantly allover the Philippines. They are grown in the country as their trees can give varieties of products from roots up to it's leaves. And Buko Pie is one of it's well boasted products.
Buko Pie has gained popularity in the country particularly in the province at the south of Manila, the province of Laguna. Many street vendors sell Buko Pie even at the bus but, suggest you buy either Letty's, Collete's or Orien-The Original and other well known brands where shops stand side by side at Los BaƱos, Laguna as the ones sold at the street are made of fewer coconut meat and mostly made by cornstarch. A long queue of buyers of the known brands at their stores is an evidence of it's products' good taste!
